About Ambasador Restaurant
Ambasador Restaurant is an italian restaurant in Utica, New York. It is listed at 537 Albany St, Utica, NY 13501, which places it among the local businesses of Utica that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5β9 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Ambasador Restaurant at (315) 507-3953; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 166 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian restaurants in Utica.
Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Utica is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If youβre visiting Utica and only have one place to go, Ambassador Restaurant is a must-visit! We stopped there for the night after a long trip and were blown away by the food and service. The owner took the time to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed. I recommend the clams over pasta and the Vodka Riggies! Iβd definitely return if I ever find myself in Utica again!

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Atmosphere was lively with smaller dining rooms, one with a fireplace, and a large banquet room (about 50 people). The owner greeted people at the door, assisted waitstaff, checked several times if everything was OK. Assisted carrying items to our cars after a banquet. Food was excellent

My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday night when we stopped in Utica on our drive home along I-90. We had a wonderful time! The food was absolutely delicious--the bread was warm, pasta sauces were perfectly done with great flavor, and meats were cooked well. The service couldn't have been better--our server was so kind and attentive, and the owner made sure to personally stop by our table. We will absolutely be back!

Ordered the hot antipasto (1st pic) for an appetizer. Very unique dish that no other restaurant has on their menu. Excellent and highly recommend. For entrees, wife and I ordered veal ambassador (2nd pic) and veal saltimbocca (3rd pic). Both amazing and very flavorful. Our waitress, I think her name was Myla. (Sorry, if I butchered your name) was top notch and very attentive. The decor could have been a bit more lively and a touch brighter with the lighting. However, a very minor gripe. I was really there for the service and food.

You would think that good Italian food would be easy for find around here, but this is not always the case! Ambassador, however, really hit the spot for us. We ended up here on accident, but were SO glad we did. The atmosphere is quite nice, relaxing and romantic. The wait staff are wonderful, (the young man who was taking his role of unofficial host was a sweetheart as well,) and it's just a pleasant dining experience all around. I had a glass of cabernet for $9. It was worth it- excellent wine, and plenty of it. No regrets there! For an appetizer, we got the Ambassador Greens. It's Utica. You have to try the greens and the riggies, right? Well, these were some of the best we've had. I love Utica greens, and my partner does not, but these? he had almost the entire plate by himself! I got to taste the steak park of his filet riggies, which he very much enjoyed. I got the haddock Alaska. Now, I'm very particular with my seafood. My first preference for it is raw, but if I'm going to have it cooked, it had best not be overcooked. I'm pleased to say that my dish was cooked well- still tender and juicy! Be warned- it only comes with one shrimp and two small scallops, but they're tasty
